Kingsland (ASX:KNG) return a graphite Bonanza at Leliyn
September 5, 2023After already returning a series of high-end graphite results from drilling at its Leliyn Discovery, Kingsland Minerals have received its best to date, with Bonanza grade intercepts further confirming a Northern Territory graphite deposit with world class grade and scale.
A 206m @ 10.0 % Total Graphitic Carbon strike from 0m was a worthy headliner and is backed up by a series of new and past intercepts which position the project as a highly sought after Australian supply of raw materials for the battery industry.
Mineralisation has now been outlined over five kilometres of strike length, remaining open along strike and at depth within a 20-kilometre-long graphitic schist host rock offering huge growth potential beyond the scope of the current 200-250Mt at 8-11 TGC Exploration target.
Kingsland Managing Director Richard Maddocks said the results are globally significant, and exceptional by any measure.
“The widths, grade, and shallow nature of the mineralisation show Leliyn is on track to capitalise on the huge global demand from the lithium battery industry for graphite battery anode material. We are about to commence metallurgical test-work with the aim of establishing Leliyn as a major future supplier of Australian graphite for use in lithium batteries.” Mr Maddocks said.

Great Australian graphite
One of the critical minerals dominated by Chinese production, a graphite deposit of this apparent scale being hosted within Australian borders is a large added bonus.
There are still no active graphite mining operations in Australia, and since marking discovery at Leliyn, Kingsland has quickly established its project as one of the premier assets to make it happen.
Australia and Africa have emerged as the two prominent competitors to Chinese production, and a stable Australian jurisdiction could soon be offering a commercial-scale facility for downstream production.
Kingsland knew it was in a tier-one location when it began building on its Northern Territory discovery, and a combined RC and diamond drill campaign will continue to infill and extend mineralisation ahead of the grand reveal of its maiden resource.
