Lithium Universe (ASX:LU7) round out the Dream Team

Lithium Universe have appointed a series of key lithium industry professionals to the LU7 management team, with Head of Mining Terry Stark, Head of Processing Roger Pover, Engineering Manager Huy Nguyen, and Head of Lithium Carbonate Refinery John Loxton all on deck to aggressively drive development of the Québec Lithium Processing Hub in Canada.

Spearheading the mining strategy for the Apollo First to Market program, Tery Stark was responsible for all of Galaxy Resources’ mineral assets as Managing Director of the Resources Division and oversaw Mt Cattlin to production.

Roger Pover will lead the processing and concentrating strategy towards market after serving as the Mt Cattlin Plant Manager for Galaxy, involved with commissioning, operating, and optimising the spodumene concentrate plant and standing as a well-heeled industry veteran after beginning his career at the Greenbushes mine long before the lithium boom.

Seconded from Mintrex, the lead engineering company which designed and constructed the plant together with DRA Global, Huy Nguyen was part of the construction supervision team that delivered it on-time and budget and will act as the engineering client representative for LU7.

John Loxton started his lithium career at Galaxy’s Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate Plant in China and was later engaged by its new owner Tianqi Lithium as Head of Projects to ensure its successful commissioning of a lithium hydroxide plant in Kwinana.

Lithium Universe Chairman Iggy Tan said the appointments rounded out the creation of a Lithium Dream Team.

“The Company previously appointed lithium veteran and global lithium expert, Pat Scallan, and Dr Jingyuan Liu to the Board,” Mr Tan said.

“Patrick Scallan is an experienced lithium veteran who successfully managed the world-class Greenbushes Mine for over 25 years.

“Dr. Liu, ex-Galaxy Head of Technology, played a key role in the development of the Jiangsu Lithium Carbonate Project and is a leading international expert in lithium downstream processing. We now have one of the most experienced operating lithium teams that can drive our “Québec Lithium Processing Hub” strategy.

Exploration has just begun at the company’s flagship Apollo asset, but it clearly has more than drilling on its mind as it moves on bringing vertically integrated production to James Bay.
