Mt Finnerty returns more high-grade gold
May 12, 2023Diamond drilling at Mt Finnerty has intercepted more lengthy stretches of high-grade gold as Westar Resources and Ramelius Resources unwrap the last assays from the Tasman prospect, northeast of Perth in Western Australia.
Latest highlights:
• 8.70m at 13.4g/t Au from 173.5m
• 3.0m at 3.64g/t Au from 250m
The strikes came adjacent to a previous 13m at 4.37g/t gold intercept and early interpretation from the diamond core has pointed towards a mineralised structure associated with mafic to ultramafic intrusives – meaning high-grade gold may remain open in multiple directions.
“Our Mt Finnerty JV is starting to look more and more interesting with additional high-grade hits and the geologists beginning to understand the controls to the mineralisation.” – Ramelius Resources Managing Director Mark Zepter.
“The Mt Finnerty JV is continuing to deliver high-grade results and we’re further encouraged by Ramelius Mark Zeptner’s comments on the JV. We look forward to Ramelius continuing their work at the Mt Finnerty Project with the structural review and future drilling.” – Westar Executive Director Lindsay Franker.
The JV sits around 200 kilometres northeast of Ramelius’ Edna May mine and mill, with Westar holding a free quarter interest until the decision is made on whether to mine Mt Finnerty, a prospect looking more likely with the return of every new top-end intercept.
Structural review is now underway, and the next round of drilling will test the veracity and continuity of the interpreted veining once completed.
