Panther (ASX:PNT) claims control of 30km Laverton gold corridor

Panther (ASX:PNT) claims control of 30km Laverton gold corridor

Panther Metals‘ auger drill campaign has identified three gold targets at the Comet Well South prospect it believes could prove as the missing piece of its Laverton Gold Project in the far reaches of Western Australia’s Northern Goldfields.

The targets lie on trend and within a mineralised, underexplored, and highly prospective gold corridor which now extends over 30 kilometres – and is now under full Panther control after its acquisition of key license P38/4518.

They all remain undrilled, with the largest sitting at 900 by 200 metres and featuring gold-in-soil anomalies peaking at 50 times the background levels.

Panther Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Tuffin said spotting the targets was a significant development, both infilling and providing further evidence of a long, golden corridor.

“The company’s strategic acquisition of new tenure south of Comet Well completes the tenement portfolio, enabling us to fully control the full extent of this promising gold corridor within the LGP,” Mr Tuffin said.

“The acquisition opens up opportunities for us to explore new targets and further develop existing prospects such as Burtville East, Comet Well, and the recently discovered Picnic Ridge prospect into JORC-compliant gold resources, all under our full ownership.

“This is an exciting opportunity for the Company to explore a ‘belt-scale’ gold project, endowed with immense potential but relatively little historical work.”

Mr Tuffin added that the exploration team was now completing a full geological evaluation of the entire corridor to define and rank numerous targets, get to drilling, and fast-track the opportunity to make discoveries.

While Leonora is the current talk of takeovers in the gold sector, Panther’s Laverton assets are surrounded by world-class operations, with gold mining playmaker Raleigh Finlayson at least tipping consolidation to intensify across the industry.
